Create your own Happiness

Can we really find happiness amidst the challenges that life throws at us? Why not? There are many small differences we can make to reduce worry and stress, to enjoy life, and be happy. You are the one who knows best about those small things that spark happiness in you. Here are some suggestions that you can take up to make small changes that matter.

1. Listen to music

Music has been hailed as spiritual medicine from ancient times. Research has found that listening to music that’s not loud and fast but pleasing to the ear calms your mind and causes favourable chemical reactions in your brain. It is stated that music lowers the level of cortisol, the stress hormone in your body, reducing the strain on your mind caused by stress and worry. Currently, music is used for treatment therapy and is also known as a painkiller.

So, listen to music, listen to songs you love. Make it a habit to listen to pleasing music as you travel, whenever you can.

2. Laugh as much as you can

You may have heard the saying that laughter is the best medicine. With just one smile, you may positively influence your mood and the people around you, even unknowingly. Treat your loved ones to a smile whenever you see them. Doing so will contribute to a long life. Crack a joke with your friends and face life cheerfully. Laugh out loud whenever it is possible. It’s your life after all.

3. Do good

Researchers have shared that people who do good for others live happier. Doing good also compounds your value as a person. Help others whenever you can with a kind word or a kind gesture. If you are doing well financially, try to help someone who deserves it. Remind yourself that their happiness brings you happiness and comfort as well.

4. Meditate mindfully

Meditation is yet another medicine for your mind. Irrespective of your age, meditation can bring you physical and mental comfort, reducing stress on your mind and body. When starting out, choose simple and short meditation techniques and make them a daily habit. Look for new mindfulness practices that work for you and adapt them to your meditation habit. A calm mind yields victories. Research has also shown that meditation improves your physical outlook as well.

5. Choose a happy life

As you wake up, what do you think of first? Quite possibly, you may be thinking of problems you have to solve during the day. But if you think happy, positive thoughts as you wake up, the outcome of your challenges of the day might change for the better. So, before you get up from bed, think of a few simple ways to find happiness during the day. Explore some ways and means of facing your challenges and fulfilling your responsibilities positively. Then your day will become a challenge you love to take on.

You will then realise that you are the owner of your happiness. Stimulate your subconscious with positivity and become someone who creates happiness for the community and the country. In every second that passes by, choose to be happy.
